Zoom India has announced that it will open a Technology centre in Bengaluru. In this technology centre, it will hire key talents. This move shows a growing strategic investment in India. However, Zoom already has an office in Mumbai and also two data centres in Hyderabad and Mumbai.
Zoom to open a new technology centre in Bangalore
Zoom will increase the company’s existing R&D centres. The company said that the centre would play a significant role in bringing new changes. Zoom will also hire DevOps engineers, IT, Security, and Business Operations headcount in the area. Till everything gets okay, the employees will work from home.
In a press statement, the company said,
“This growing presence is in direct response to Zoom’s increased level of adoption by users across India. From January to April 2020, Zoom has seen 6,700% growth in free user sign-ups in India.”
Zoom has selected Bengaluru for its IT and engineering talent. In the area, the company will start work immediately and hire DevOps engineers, IT, Security, and Business Operations headcount. As of now, all the employees will work from home.
The CEO of Zoom, Eric S. said,
“India is a strategically important country for Zoom and we expect to see continued growth and investment here. We plan to hire key employees for the technology center over the next few years, pulling from India’s highly-educated engineering talent pool. This facility will play a critical role in Zoom’s continued growth.”
Opening the technology centre in Bengaluru is the strategy of developing communications technology in different locations around the world.
The company said that Zoom platform had seen 6,700% growth in free users in India between January to April 2020.
