The display issue is reported on Reddit, and the official OnePlus Forums includes complaining about the display issue from the time they were getting OnePlus Nord pre-orders. All of them who bought OnePlus Nord are complaining about the display and says when the display brightness goes below 25% the dark part of the screen starts showing colour casts or “tinting” towards the lower side of the display.

Earlier, OnePlus 8 Pro got the same problem, but this issue is a manufacturing issue or something else which can be solved with a software update, it is not known yet. However, the OxygenOS OTA update has got “green-tint” issues on OnePlus 8 Pro. But this screen tinting issue on OnePlus Nord can be solved through software patch we are not sure.

A user wrote on the official OnePlus forum,

“OnePlus Nord is a great device but there is a major green tint issue at low brightness…As you can see on the picture green tint is really present on the right of the screen compared to the OP 8 Pro. DC dimming is not enabled on OP 8 Pro and you should know that this setting is not available on Nord. Hope this will be fixed soon! I had a similar issue on OP 8 Pro at the beginning but not as much. I’m a little worried.”

The issue is experienced by limited users only. According to the reports, this display tinting issue is usually seen while using dark themes and in dark surroundings. If the brightness level is above 60%, the display issue is not seen. There is no official response by the company on this display issue.

OnePlus has provided a statement on Nord display issues:

OnePlus Nord comes with a high quality 90 Hz AMOLED screen. Under specific circumstances of low brightness, a slight display discoloration may occur due to the properties of the AMOLED display – this is characteristic of all OLED displays and the degree of discoloration will vary depending on other properties of the display. This is not a quality issue and will not affect daily usage or the durability of the screen. OnePlus will continue to look into cutting-edge display technologies and strive to deliver the best user experience possible.

Till the company responds to any of the complaints, we need to wait.
