Apple’s latest iOS update of iOS 14 Beta has brought a privacy scare for all the iPhone users. The iPhone device users found out the “Camera is On” in the background while they are using Instagram. Instagram says that it is a bug in iOS 14 Beta, which mistakenly shows the users are using camera even if they are not using.
iOS 14 Beta, iPhone Users Found Instagram Bug “Camera On”
Some of the Instagram users have reported about the bug which shows “Camera on” indicator whenever they opened the Instagram app and scrolled down through the app even they are not recording.
As soon as the users got this problem, quickly they complained about this unusual behaviour of the app. This privacy scare problem has reminded about the popular TikTok app, Reddit, LinkedIn, and other Chinese apps which were secretly stealing the data. Quickly Instagram responded to this and said it is a Bug.
In a statement, Instagram said,
“We only access your camera when you tell us to — for example when you swipe from Feed to Camera. The company has found and are fixing a bug in iOS 14 Beta that mistakenly indicates that some people are using the camera when they aren’t. “We do not access your camera in those instances, and no content is recorded.”
Apple iOS 14 has improved privacy to the users. TikTok was the first to headlines once it was caught accessing the user’s clipboard. But the developers of iOS 14 helped the users and beta testers to catch the apps which are doing the same thing.
Recently, the Indian government banned 50 Chinese apps. It was said that TikTok was the app which secretly accesses the universal clipboard in the iOS user’s device. And other apps like Reddit, LinkedIn, Accuweather, AliExpress, Google News and much more apps were banned.
If you don’t know, then Apple is offering the universal clipboard from some time now, which helps the users to copy and paste the content on the Apple devices. However, with iOS 14, Apple has made huge changes. It notifies the users whenever the app access the universal clipboard. So, this is how all the apps are being reported by iOS 14 beta users.
