But you don’t have to go through this lengthy process. You can enable Automatic Downloads, and anything you add to your library will be quickly downloaded to your iPhone. This feature will be useful if you have just started building your collection in the app. You can complete this process in one tap shorter.
You can enable this feature by opening the Settings application and going to the Music section. Then, you must tap on the toggle next to the Automatic Downloads option. You will have to switch on the iCloud Music Library to utilize this feature.
Once this feature is turned on, you do not have to worry about whether your favorite albums have been downloaded or not.
Utilize Apple Music Shortcuts
Thanks to Apple’s Shortcuts application, you can take advantage of user-defined automation in your iPhone. By using this application, you can create a list of actions that will be initiated when you tap on the shortcut from the widget. The actions will also be initiated when you say the phrase to Siri.
Furthermore, Shortcuts can be used to automate regular tasks like interacting with the Music application. This app will come across a wide range of Music-related shortcuts and actions. Two of the most common shortcuts are:
- Playing playlists from the Shortcuts widget by opening the Shortcuts app and going to the Gallery section. You have to search for the Play Playlist and tap on Get Shortcut. Then, you have to tap on Choose and select the playlist. You can go to the Menu and tap on Settings to change the name of the shortcut created. It will show up in your widget.
- Using the Shortcuts widget, you can add songs to the playlist. You must download the Add to a playlist shortcut and tap on it.
From Now Playing, Jump to an Artist or Album
If you are using iOS 12 or later, you can directly jump to an artist or album from the Now Playing view. It would be best if you tapped on the Read text, and you will see a menu. Then, you can tap on Go to Album or Go to Artist.
Optimize Storage by Limiting Downloads
When you turn on Automatic Downloads, it means that you will end up filling your iOS device quickly. That’s why you need to use the Optimize Storage feature of Apple by going to Settings > tap on Music > tap on Optimize Storage.
Then, you can ask Apple to store a couple of gigabytes of songs on your device. You can select from 4GB to 32GB and more. The Apple Music application will store the same amount of songs on your storage, and if there’s space, more songs will be stored. However, if your device runs out of space, it will start deleting old songs automatically or songs you haven’t played in a while.
Read the Lyrics to Your Favorite Songs
There’s no need to download and install any third-party application because you want to read the lyrics to your favorite songs. When you are in the Now Playing screen, you can swipe up to see the Lyrics section. You can tap on the Show button if this section is not expanded.
Personalize the Library Screen
The Library screen is where most of the Apple Music interactions occur. You will see options to open Artists, Playlists, Songs, Albums, and Downloaded Music. You can even switch on shortcuts like Music Videos and Genres. You can choose the Edit button to disable the shortcut or modify it using the handle icon.
